About the cbc test

A Complete Blood Count is the single most commonly ordered blood test in India, and usually the first one a physician asks for. It measures your haemoglobin, red cells, white cells and platelets in one go — which is why it picks up anaemia, infection, inflammation, clotting problems and blood disorders early, often before you feel seriously unwell. It needs no fasting and takes about two minutes to draw. For patients who are elderly, bedridden, recovering from surgery or simply exhausted by an outpatient queue, having the sample taken at home by a nurse is the difference between the test getting done and the test getting postponed.

What the CBC test measures

Haemoglobin (Hb) — the anaemia marker
Total and differential WBC count — infection and immunity
Platelet count — clotting capacity, critical in dengue season
RBC count, PCV / haematocrit
MCV, MCH, MCHC — red cell indices that classify the type of anaemia
RDW — variation in red cell size

Who usually needs a CBC test

  • Persistent tiredness, weakness or breathlessness on mild exertion
  • Pale skin, brittle nails, hair fall — suspected iron-deficiency anaemia
  • Fever that has not settled in 3–4 days
  • Before any planned surgery or procedure (pre-operative workup)
  • Monitoring during dengue or viral fever — platelet tracking
  • Routine annual health check for adults and senior citizens
  • Heavy menstrual bleeding causing suspected anaemia
  • Follow-up during chemotherapy or long-term medication

How we collect your CBC sample at home

Your sample is drawn by a registered nurse or trained phlebotomist — not a courier — which is why we can safely handle elderly, bedridden, difficult-vein, paediatric and post-surgical patients that most collection services struggle with.

  1. 1

    Call or WhatsApp us

Tell us the test name, or just describe the symptom or send a photo of the doctor's prescription. We confirm the test, the fasting requirement and the price on the same call.

  2. 2

Nurse reaches you in 60–90 minutes

a registered nurse or trained phlebotomist arrives at your home with sterile, single-use vacutainers, a fresh needle opened in front of you, and proper cold-chain transport boxes.

  3. 3

Sample goes straight to the lab

Every sample we collect is transported under correct temperature and handling conditions and processed at our NABL-accredited partner laboratory in Bangalore.

  4. 4

    Report on WhatsApp and email

Most routine tests are reported in 8–10 hours. Specialised tests and cultures take longer — we tell you the exact turnaround before we collect, never after.

Frequently asked about the cbc test

Do I need to be fasting for a CBC test at home?

No. A Complete Blood Count needs no fasting — you can eat and drink normally, and the sample can be collected at any time of day. Fasting is only needed if the doctor has combined your CBC with a fasting sugar or lipid profile on the same prescription, in which case we'll tell you on the booking call and schedule an early-morning collection.

How long does a CBC report take?

Routine CBC reports are ready in 8–10 hours from collection. We send the report as a PDF on WhatsApp and by email the moment the lab releases it. If your doctor needs it urgently, tell us on the booking call — for genuinely urgent cases the sample can be prioritised.

Can you collect a CBC sample from a bedridden patient?

Yes — this is exactly the case we're built for. The draw is done by a registered nurse or trained phlebotomist experienced with fragile, elderly and bedridden patients, including those with collapsed or difficult veins, oedema, or dementia who cannot cooperate. We position the patient safely in bed, use the appropriate gauge needle, and apply proper pressure afterwards to prevent bruising.

What does a CBC test at home cost in Bangalore?

At the lowest price available in the market. We don't publish a fixed figure because diagnostic pricing changes constantly — we confirm the exact amount on the phone before the nurse is dispatched, with no separate home-collection charge added at the door. Call +91 72178 72802 to confirm today's rate.
